MANILA, Philippines – International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) stars Marin Cilic and Vasek Pospisil snared their own separate wins today in Switzerland and Spain, respectively.
Cilic kept local hero Marco Chiudinelli at bay in their Swiss Indoors Basel match. The 2014 US Open singles king eliminated the Swiss netter in two sets, 6-3, 7-6 (3), in the opening salvo.
Pospisil, the second best Canadian tennis player breezed past British Aljaz Bedene, 6-3, 6-4 at the Valencia Open 500's second round.
Cilic is due for an IPTL appearance this December. The veteran Croat will be donning the UAE Royals' colors.
The young Pospisil on the other hand, will be seeing action with the Japan Warriors.
Cilic's 2nd round assignment in Basel is Teymuraz Gabashvili. Pospisil's next mark is still undefined as of writing.
They will tangle with the Singapore Slammers, the Indian Aces and the retooled Philippine Mavericks this December for the second season of the IPTL.
