PUP, Enderun score big WBL reversals

MANILA, Philippines –  Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Enderun College scored the biggest upsets at the start of the 28th Women’s Basketball League organized by the BEST Center and backed by Milo recently at the Xavier High School gym.

PUP held on despite repeated rallies by Ateneo, emerging a 47-42 winner in their 25-Under match to join St. Scholastica’s College, which beat St. Paul College-QC, 32-31, in the early Group A lead.

Enderun College, meanwhile, scuttled a De la Salle-College of St. Benilde combine, 47-30, for the early Group B lead with University of Santo Tomas, which tripped UP-Los Baños, 49-29.

Also scoring their debut triumphs were De la Salle-Zobel, St. Paul College-Pasig and St. Stephen High School in the 13-U Developmental; Kalayaan National High School, St. Paul-Pasig, New Era High School, Immaculate Conception Academy, Miriam College, St. Theresa’s College, and Assumption College-Antipolo in 17-U Developmental; and La Salle-Antipolo, St. Bridget School, Assumption, Chiang Kai Shek College, and University of Perpetual Help-Dalta in 17-U Competitive.
