MANILA, Philippines - Metro Racal Auto Center held off a rallying Laguna Busa side and carved out a 75-72 victory for its second straight win in the Filsports Basketball Association at the San Juan gym in San Juan City last Wednesday.
John Amboludto fired 18 points and hauled down nine rebounds to power the Metro Racal cagers past the Warriors and into the early lead. He added two steals and one assist.
Marvin Moraga sizzled with 21 points for the Warriors, who also drew a double-double game from former pro and current playing coach Nic Belasco, who made 15 points and 11 rebounds along with three assists and a steal.
Numero Uno Antipolo, meanwhile, thwarted Quezon City UP, 70-60, to post its first win after dropping its first two games in the fledgling league headed by commissioner Vince Hizon and president LJ Serrano.
The Antipolo Pilgrims showed up with just eight players but pulled away with a big run in the fourth quarter behind a 12-2 windup.
Joseph Marquez hit 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds and dished off four assists for Antipolo, which also got 16 points and 13 rebounds from Mark Montuano.
Andres Paul Desiderio shot 20 points and snared nine rebounds and had two assists for the Fighting Maroons.
Meanwhile, action in the FBA resumes tomorrow with a triple-bill at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Malolos, Bulacan.
