MANILA, Philippines - Willy Princesa and guest partner Tomas Joson put up a steady game for two days and pooled a 160 then nipped the brothers Butch and Philip Brodett in the tiebreak to snare the Group I crown in the seventh Manila Southwoods invitational tournament presented by Resorts World Manila at Southwoods in Carmona, Cavite last Wednesday.
Princesa and Joson shot a pair of 40s on both nines of both the Legends and Masters courses for a 160-aggregate under the Aggregate-Stableford scoring system and edged the fancied Brodett siblings with a lower team handicap to clinch the top plum in Southwoods’ premier senior member-senior guest tournament presented by Resorts World Manila.
