MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao rubbed elbows with several US lawmakers during a visit to Washington on Wednesday (Thursday Manila time).
According to The Washington Post, the Filipino icon made rounds on Capitol Hill after gracing the National Prayer Breakfast along with his delegation. Pacquiao then reportedly visited the offices of breakfast co-chair Rep. Janice Hahn of California and Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada.
Reid himself, a Pacquiao fan, took to Twitter to share his encounter with the fighting congressman from Sarangani. The US senator likewise expressed his desire to finally see a showdown between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Negotiations for a Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown have hit a snag this week, with the two camps still trying to find common ground in network issues. Mayweather fights under Showtime while Pacquiao is under contract with rival network HBO Sports.
Top Rank chief Bob Arum said time is running out for the fight to be finalized for May 2, suggesting moving it to a later date. - Dino Maragay
