MANILA, Philippines - The Tenpin Bowling Association of Makati (TBAM) captured 55 points to win the Overall Champion Title in the recently concluded 22nd Philippine Bowling Congress National Youth Championships held at E-Lanes Bowling Center, San Juan City.
Leading TBAM to its seventh straight championship title was Merwin Tan who beat his teammates Enzo Hernandez and Ivan Malig in the boys’ Masters Event after rolling 2750 (229 average) over 12 games against Enzo’s 2658 and Ivan’s 2555.
In the girls Masters Event, Prima 1’s Angel Lazo narrowly beat Bea Hernandez of TBAM by two pins with a 2328 (194 average) score over 12 games.
Winning the bronze medal was TBAM’s Dyan Coronacion who finished with a series of 2260. Angel’s victory helped her capture the 2014 PBC Youth Girls Majors Bowler of the Year award.
Enzo won his first gold medal of the tournament by scoring 1423 (237 average) over six games in the singles event.
Merwin, who rolled the tournament’s lone perfect ‘300’ game during the first event, was 12 pins away from Enzo, followed by Ivan with 1327.
