MANILA, Philippines - Siargao Legends blasted Sealions, 110-92, to sweep the Final Four and gain a twice-to-beat edge in the finals of the fourth DELeague Invitational basketball tournament at the Marikina Sports Center in Marikina City last Sunday.
The victory capped the Siargao Legends’ domination of the round-robin semis where they also defeated the Hobe-JVS and Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. sides to move a win away from clinching the championship.
Siargao guns for the crown tomorrow against Hobe-JVC, which toppled Sta. Lucia for a 2-1 card. Sta. Lucia finished with a 1-2 mark while Sealions wound up with a 0-3 slate.
CJ Perez shot 16 points to pace Siargao while Mike Harry and Jabril Bailey scored 17 markers apiece for Hobe-JVS.
In their first meeting in the semis of the league supported by Mayor Del de Guzman and sponsored by PCA Marivalley, St. Anthony Hospital, PS Bank Blue Wave Marquinton Branch, Luyong Restaurant Concepcion, Mckie’s Equipment Sales and Rental, Cars Unlimited- Fairview Auto Sale and Tutor 911, Siargao Legends edged Hobe, 65-63.
