MANILA, Philippines - Petron tries to firm up its hold of the lead as it tangles with a struggling Mane ‘N Tail side while Generika hopes to keep its streak going as action in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix presented by Asics shifts to the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa today.
With Alaina Bergsma and Erica Adachi back in form, the Blaze Spikers gun for their eighth win in nine games against the Mane ‘N Tail side at 2 p.m. The Life Savers shoot for their sixth victory, also in nine starts, against RC Cola-Air Force at 4 p.m. in women’s play of the inter-club tournament organized by Sports Core with Air 21, My Phone, Via Mare, Mikasa, Mueller Sports Medicine, Healthway Medical, Generika Drugstore, LGR and Jinling Sports as technical partners.
In the men’s side, second seed Cignal takes on third seed Cavite at 6 p.m. for a chance to advance to the finals.
Bergsma and Adachi were impressive in their previous 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 25-15 win over Foton with the duo expected to lead Petron again to the win and closer to the top seeding in the semifinals.
Generika (5-3), RC Cola-Air Force (5-4) and Cignal (4-5) are slugging it out for the three other slots in the Final Four.
