MANILA, Philippines - Pacific Online and W Group Inc. signed up as Diamond sponsors of the ninth Highlands Ladies Cup which fires off tomorrow with a merry mix of 150 players and guests from various sectors joining the country’s leading golfing ladies at Midlands Golf Club in Tagaytay.
Regent Travel has also offered a four-day, three-night all-expense paid trip to Jakarta for two, including two rounds of golf, joining Autohub and Royal Caribbean as hole-in-one sponsors in the annual 18-hole tournament that has CATS Motors, Security Bank, Smart Communications, San Miguel Corp. and SMDC as Platinum sponsors.
In case no one scores an ace on No. 17, the Asian cruise prize will be raffled off during awards rites, according to Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter, organizers of the event backed by Gold sponsors Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corp. and Baron Travel with Bingo Bonanza, Comworks, SM Prime Holdings and PLDT SME making up the Silver sponsors roster.
Highlands Golf president Jerry Tiu, THLC officials Sandy Romualdez and Rosalind Wee and Felix Ang, president of CATS Motors, will hit the ceremonial drives to kick off the tournament also held to raise funds for THLC’s favorite charity, Sisters of Mary, Boys and Girls Town in Silang, Cavite with the mission of education for employment.
Making up the Bronze sponsors list are Unilab, Kaiser Health International, Concrete Masters, Burlington Socks, Captain Bum Chil Heo, Regent Travel, Universal Robina Corp., Orocan, Holland Blooms, Francisco Varua, H&E Mfg. Corp., Honda Cavite, Figaro Coffee, Unilever, Kawsek Inc., Guess and First Life Financial Co. Inc. while donors are Ajisen Ramen, Beach Walk slippers, Marie France, Philippine Airlines, Splendido Golf and Betchay Mendoza.
The shotgun start tee-off is set at 8 a.m. under the System 36 scoring format. Aside from the centerpiece ladies crown, other titles to be disputed are in the low gross and net divisions and the men’s Classes A, B and C and the seniors sections.
The event also serves as a victory tournament for the Highlands Ladies team which completed a first-ever four-peat in the WGAP (Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines) Cup last Tuesday after romping off with a third straight championship in the WGAP Circuit.
