4 p.m. – Arellano vs FEU

MANILA, Philippines - La Salle and San Beda collide today in a match tipped to go down-to-the-wire while Far Eastern U and Arellano clash in the other UAAP-NCAA encounter as action in the National Collegiate Championship Elite Eight heats up at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

The Archers, the former UAAP champs, racked up two victories over the University of Visayas Green Lancers and Southwestern U Cobras in the Cebu leg of the event last week and are raring to make it three-in-row against the Red Lions in the featured 2 p.m. encounter.

But the reigning five-peat NCAA champions, who trounced the University of San Carlos Warriors in Cebu, are also going all-out to fuel their own title bid in the annual event which gathers the country’s best university and collegiate teams.

Focus will also be on the 4 p.m. showdown between the Tams and the Chiefs with the former trying to bounce back from their loss to the USC Warriors and the latter hoping to improve on their 1-1 card after beating the SWU Cobras and losing to the UV Green Lancers.

Meanwhile, all the Elite Eight games at Ynares will be televised live over ABS-CBN Sports and Action channel.

Tickets for the games are also available online through SM Ticket and at venue gates.

The Elite Eight teams are divided into two groups with Group A composed of the NU Bulldogs, the AU Chiefs, the USC Warriors and the Green Archers while the SBC Red Lions, the SWU Cobras, the FEU Tams and the UV Green Lancers make up Group B.

The top four will advance to Premier Four stage for the championship series. Ties are broken using FIBA rules.

The Champions League (PCCL) National Collegiate Championship is sponsored by ABS-CBN, Phoenix Petroleum, The Philippine Star, Molten Balls, Fil-Oil Flying V Sports, Fog City Creamery and Foccacia.
