Kawasaki, Cars score in Deleague

MANILA, Philippines - Kawasaki-Marikina broke into the win column after scoring a masterful 88-63 victory over  Philippine National Police  Thursday night in the fourth DELeague Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Marikina Sports Center’s Basketball Gymnasium.

Ronald Roy netted 20 points for Kawasaki-Marikina in the tournament supported by Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman. Francis Munsayac added 14 points while Kojack Melegrito and James Abugan chipped in 12 points apiece.

PNP’s Dennis Escalon led his team with 17 points and Rey Gonzales contributed 14 points.   

In the other game, Cars Unlimited routed winless MBL Selection, 83-66, to also win for the first time in the league also sponsored by PCA Marivalley, St. Anthony Hospital, PS Bank Blue Wave Marquinton Branch, Luyong Restaurant Concepcion, Mckie’s Equipment Sales and Rental, and Tutor 911.   

Alvin Vitug came up with 16 points and Penso Guradera added 15 points and 8 rebounds for Cars Unlimited.

The MBL Selection of Marist School was led by Edward Olatun who grabbed 18 rebounds and Dencio De Guzman who scored 20 points.   

DELeague resumes tonight with FEU-NRMF facing Cars Unlimited and PNP taking on defending champion Hobe-JVS.
