LNU scores twice in Luzon qualifier

MANILA, Philippines - Lyceum Northwestern University scored two victories in the North-Central Luzon regional games at the LNU gym in Dagupan City, beating University of Northern Philippines, 102-62, and nipping La Finns of La Union, 73-72, in the Champions League (PCCL) National Collegiate Championship.

Earlier, La Finns Scholastica blasted Lyceum of Subic Bay, 73-67, while University of Baguio dumped UNP, 87-79, to prime itself for a showdown with the Dukes for the regional crown.

In the South Luzon-Bicol regional games at the J.C. Lobredo Coliseum in Naga City, University of Batangas and the Naga College Foundation arranged a title duel after defeating respective rivals.

The UB Brahmans clobbered Amando Cope College, 101-65, while the NCF Tigers crushed the CCDI Wildcats, 92-45.

The winners of the Southern Luzon-Bicol and North-Central Luzon regional games will join De La Salle, Jose Rizal University, Centro Escolar University, University of Perpetual Help, St. Clare and Diliman College.

 

They will clash for the last seat of the Elite Eight stage.

The stepladder knock-out qualifying games will be held at the Faith Gym in Tanauan City, Batangas, on Nov. 7-10.

All the games will be covered live by ABS-CBN Sports and Action channel.

Teams already in the Elite Eight phase are UAAP champion National University, NCAA titlist San Beda College, CESAFI winner Southwestern University, Far Eastern University, Arellano University, University of San Carlos and University of Visayas.
