MANILA, Philippines – National University fashioned out a near-flawless routine to become back-to-back titlists in the 2014 UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the jam-packed Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday.

The defending champions finished with a score of 677.5 points on strength of their clean executions and jaw-dropping throws to retain the prestigious title.

But the Bulldogs got a solid challenge from perennial powerhouse UP, which ended up as first runner-up with 658 points.

The UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe returned to their winning ways, finishing second runner-up with 625 points for their first podium finish in the highly anticipated contest since 2010.

NU also took home a P340,000 check while UP and UST got P200,000 and P140,000, respectively.

With the win, NU became only the third team in history to win two straight UAAP Cheerdance crowns since UST (1994-95) and UP (1999-2000).
