Rivals Eaglets, Greenies stay unbeaten

MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo-B and La Salle Greenhills-A trounced their respective rivals to stay unbeaten in Group A of the Small Basketeers Philippines competition of the Best Center-organized, Milo-sponsored SBP-Passerelle twin basketball tournaments over the weekend at the Xavier School gym.

The Blue Eaglets downed Xavier-B (1-3), 39-28, to notch its third straight win for share the lead with the Greenies, who smothered Don Bosco Technical School-Makati (2-1), 47-17.

Notre Dame of Greater Manila joined DBTI at 2-1 by crushing St. Mary’s College (0-3), 45-34.

In Group B, Host Xavier-A outlasted LSGH-B (1-2), 59-52, to claim its third straight win. It now shares the lead with Marist School, which blasted Lourdes School-Mandaluyong (1-2), 61-45.

San Beda College-Rizal now leads Group B of the Passerelle contest with two straight wins, the last at the expense of Nazareth School (1-1), 44-37.

Lourdes School-Mandaluyong is now 1-1 after trashing Notre Dame (0-2), 61-56.

Ateneo-B improved to 2-1 in Group C after a 73-53 beating of St. Augustine International School (1-1) while University of Santo Tomas (1-1) routed Don Bosco Technical College (0-2), 90-27.

Ateneo-A clinched its second straight win with a 63-56 clipping of LSGH-B (1-1) in Group D, which also saw DBTI-Makati (1-1) defeat St. Paul’s-Makati (0-2), 47-41.
