MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American player Jordan Clarkson has been acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2014 NBA Draft on Friday morning.

The Washington Wizards originally selected Clarkson as their 46th pick in the annual rookie draft before trading him to the Lakers for cash considerations.

Clarkson, a shooting guard from the Missouri Tigers, has a Filipino mother. The 6-foot-5 swingman has averaged 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Tigers.

An NBA.com Philippines report singled out Clarkson's scoring ability.

Clarkson is one of two players in the Draft who have Filipino roots, the other being Jason Brickman of Long Island University-Brooklyn.
