San Andres scores another twin-kill

Kawasaki-JBS Racing Team’s Kenneth San Andres treats the appreciative crowd to a couple of daredevil moves en route to victory in the premier Pro Open.

MANILA, Philippines - Kawasaki-JBS Racing Team’s Kenneth San Andres unleashed another dominant show, ruling both the premier Pro Open and Pro 125 with flourish in the second leg of the 2014 NAMSSA National Motocross Development Program at the Barangay Punturin, Valenzuela City.

San Andres, a many-time awardee for motocross of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), was in a zone right from the gun start, virtually winning by a mile both the top categories of the event, which were also part of the motocross competitions of the 2014 Philippine National Games (PNG).

Held under the auspices of the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA), the racing festival, also known as the first Kap Alex Pacheco Motocross Cup, turned out into a virtual playground for San Andres.

Using a Kawasaki KXF 2014 model, San Andres quashed the challenge of veteran Jovie Saulog and up-and-coming Moymoy Flores in the Pro Open (MX1), before repeating the trick against Jerrick Mitra (runner-up) and Saulog (third place) in the Pro 125 (MX2).

â€œNaghahanda po kasi ako para sa Asian meet this August, kaya kailangan maging aggressive,” said San Andres, referring to the FIM Asian Supercross Championship in Mongolia. “Hindi po puwedeng maging pabaya sa mga beteranong riders, kasi isang wrong move lang po and they will take advantage.”
