MANILA, Philippines – The San Mig Super Coffee Mixers leaned on the Mark Barroca’s explosive fourth quarter, defeating the Talk n Text Tropang Texters, 100-91, to clinch their third straight PBA title in the Commissioner’s Cup finals at the Philsports Arena in Pasig on Thursday.
The Mixers actually started the game flat but picked the pace up in the final quarter behind the exploits of Barroca, who scored 12 of his 22 points in the period to power his team to the title.
San Mig Coffee also drew solid support from James Yap, who came away with the Finals MVP award.
It was the 17th championship for coach Tim Cone, already the league’s winningest mentor.
