MANILA, Philippines - The chase for slots in the national finals of the Philippine Golf Foundation Junior Masters resumes today and tomorrow with the holding of the Visayas leg at the Cebu Country Club in Cebu.
Wei-Wei Gao and Junia Gabasa, who made it through the Junior World qualifying early this month, head the cast vying for slots in various age-groups of the national finals.
The Philippine Golf Foundation is the chief backer of the tourney serving as the third leg of the ICTSI-Jungolf Summer Circuit.
The Cebu Country Club leg is one of the four regional eliminations the standouts of which will advance to the national finals May 26-30 at Eagle Ridge.
From the Cebu Country Club, the series proceeds to Del Monte in Bukidnon for the Mindanao stop on May 1-2 then Mt. Malarayat in Lipa, Batangas for the Southern Luzon leg May 20-21.
Up for grabs are slots in the 15-17 years, 13-14 years, 11-12 years, 9-10 years, 7-8 years and 6 years and under with the top finishers joining the qualifiers from the previous leg hosted by the Baguio Country Club.
There is also a separate competition for players 18 years and above.
