Anton claims AAP top driver plum

MANILA, Philippines - Castrol-Yokohama’s Carlos Anton, who dominated Hill Climb racing the last six years, bagged the top driver award in circuit racing during the 18th annual awards night at the Manila International Auto Show recently.

Anton went back to circuit racing this year after he was tapped by Ethanworx-Works Bell Japan to pilot their car for Division 1 in the Philippine Touring Car Championship. He stamped his class by snatching pole in every qualifying and won eight of the 12 races during the season.

“I feel so blessed by God to receive this award from the AAP. It has been six years since I raced in touring cars and it’s good to know we are still competitive,” said Anton, after receiving the coveted award from the Automobile Association of the Philippines.

Anton, backed by Castrol, Yokohama, Works Bell brakes, Mark Young Racing, Ethanworx, View Park Hotel, Hornitex, Autoshack and Special Stage, has won titles in eight different disciplines over the last 25 years, including slalom, karting, autocross, rallycross, touring cars, time attack, Formula cars and hill climb.
