Superliga All-Pinoy volley unfolds May 10

MANILA, Philippines - A bigger, better season of the Philippine Superliga fires off on May 10 with an All-Filipino Conference kicking off the premier club league’s schedules for its second year.

This will be the first time the PSL is holding an All-Filipino Conference with PLDT-MyDSL once again backing the league, which is working to gather more teams to compete in two conferences this season.

The PSL will also hold its very first drafting on April 2 with the squads taking turns in picking from a roster of new players and those who have not been included in the protected lists but are still in top shape and in the peak of their playing years.

The PSL will also have two television networks covering its games. Solar Sports and TV-5 have entered a deal in sharing the television coverage of the Superliga.

In its inaugural last year, the PSL held an Invitational Tournament for women to get the feel of fans’ reception of a higher level of volleyball competition. The PSL is the only club league in the Philippines recognized by the International and Asian volleyball confederations.

Following the success of the Invitational meet, score made an even bolder move by introducing the men’s tournament in its second offering, the PSL Grand Prix.

The Philippine Army Lady Troopers won both the women’s Invitational and Grand prix crowns while PLDT-MyDSL Speed Boosters claimed the men’s Grand Prix title.
