Karting Super Series blasts off at Clark

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top senior and junior karters gear up for new challenges and more showdowns as they launch their quests for the major titles in the kickoff of the 2014 Petron Blaze 100 KF Karting Super Series today at the Clark International Speedway.

The karters clash in two rounds of action for the KF2, KF3 and the KF Masters titles in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint and Yokohama the official tyres.

The 2014 karting super series had been an effective avenue in familiarizing local karters with the fast and high-powered KF2 and KF3 engines and training them for prestigious international competitions that use these engine types.

VJ Suba of Eagle Cement will defend his crown in the KF Senior Blaze 100 division against his own brother Vrei-AR Suba and last year’s KF3 champion Raymond Cudala of Tough Gear Racing.

Making the fight for the KF2 crown are last year’s top four title contenders – Daniel Miranda of Cebuana Lhuillier, CJ Tsui of Formula E Racing, top lady karter Sacha Feliciano and Bobby Domingo – and they will be joined by former junior champ Estefano Rivera, Kim Lagman, Lian Linao, David Papa and Wayne Darvin of Total Racing.

Jaz Monzones and Gabriel Tayao Cabrera will lead the cast in the KF Junior Blaze 100 class which includes defending Mini-ROK champion Tai Zulberti  and Sean Smith of CityKart, Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement, Allison Julian of One Racing, Jerome Co and Sean Draeco of McLelland. Monzones ended runner-up behind Cudala while Cabrera took the KF3 overall third place aside from clinching the Clubman Karter of the Year and the overall ROK Junior and Formula SL Novice crowns.

Equally exciting is the battle for the KF Master Blaze 100 title where defending SQ champion Michael Jordan seeks to reassert his supremacy over Jerry Choi, Julius Milla and Philip Lao.

Mini-ROK karters get their share of attention as the first Filipino Asian Karting Mini-ROK champion Flynn Jackes of Tuason Racing faces a new challenger in last year’s Cadet Karter of the Year Eduardo Coseteng, young talented lady karter Bianca Bustamante of Formula-E Racing, Mickey Jordan, Jarred Kim of Tuason Racing and Bobby Redpath of AUTS Racing for the Mini-ROK XCS crown.
