Undecided Mayweather asks fans to pick next foe

MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather Jr. still has no opponent for his next fight scheduled this May, and he has asked fans to help him decide.

The choices though have been narrowed down to Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana.

In his Instagram account, the undefeated Mayweather posted a side-by-side photo of Khan and Maidana, asking his followers to choose who he should face between the two.

“I'm going to let the fans vote. Tell me who I should fight next. Khan or Maidana?” the caption read.

Khan, a British fighter and former light welterweight titleholder, is reportedly the frontrunner to face Mayweather. Maidana, meanwhile, is a heavy-handed Argentine who currently holds the WBA welterweight title.

Interestingly, some of Mayweather’s followers have responded to the boxer’s Instagram post and suggested that he instead fight the likes of Sergio Martinez and Manny Pacquiao – both of whom are among the sports’ bigger names.

Mayweather (45-0, with 26 KOs), who has been named 2013 Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America, hasn’t fought since dominating previously unbeaten Saul Alvarez in September last year. He also routed Robert Guerrero in the same year.
