MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Monday slammed rumors circulating online that he bet a whopping $10 million on the Denver Broncos in their Super Bowl XLVIII match-up against the Seattle Seahawks.
Mayweather, who’s an avid sports bettor, issued the denial via a post in his Instagram account.
“For the record, I did NOT bet $10 million on The Broncos. As a matter of fact, I didn’t bet at all,†the post read.
The Seahawks dominated the Broncos, 43-8, which means Mayweather must’ve lost a fortune if the bet is true.
Popularly known as "Money" and currently the world’s highest-paid athlete according to Forbes, Mayweather is earning millions of dollars per fight.
