NU Bullpups, LSG show way in Got Skills

MANILA, Philippines - The National University Bullpups and La Salle Greenhills-PAYA stayed on the winning track as they held off their foes on Week 6 of the 1st Got Skills Age Group Basketball Showdown last Jan. 19 at the Xavier School Sports Complex in San Juan.

The Bullpups, behind best player of the game Pat Malaluan with 18 points and 13 rebounds, demolished LSGH-PRADA to post their third straight triumph in Group A of the 13-under boys action.

Ralph Luis Labao led with 10 points for LSGH-PAYA, which came away with their fifth consecutive win at the expense of Colegio San Agustin, 62-24, in Group B.

 On that weekend, around 860 kids showed up for the sixth weekend of this cagefest, which is supported by Chris Sports, SKLZ Philippines, Fitness and Athletics Company, No Curfew Watch Store, Wize and Ope Watch, and Goody Gulp Milk Drink.

Marist School, San Beda-Taytay and  Xavier School  are among the other squads which have kept their records unblemished in their brackets.

Jose Adrian Antonio fired 19 points for Marist School, which marched to their sixth victory after stopping St. Francis School of Sta. Ana, 59-45, in the 12-under side and this put them in front of Xavier School (6-1) and CSA (4-3).

Nathan Tan delivered nine points and 14 boards for San Beda-Taytay(6-0), which blasted Don Bosco Technical Institute, 35-26, in the 11-under, while Thomas Jose Lu unloaded 13 for La Salle-Zobel (3-2), which won over CSA, 34-20.

In other 13-under games, Shan Vesagas made 17 points as La Salle-Zobel waylaid Marist, 57-40, and Kyle Dechavez hacked out 11 for SBC-Taytay, in stopping Chiang Kai Shek School, 55-48, over in Group A.

Diliman Preparatory School, with Jann Macaraeg making 11 points, walloped DBTI, 52-44, over in Group B, while San Beda-Alabang got 18 points from Lian Fortuna in their 55-40 smashing of Southeastern College.
