MANILA, Philippines - Multi-titled Carlos Anton of Ethanworx Racing Team was affirmed as AAP’s 2013 Driver of the Year as he ruled three of the final four rounds to emerge the overall champion of the Philippine Touring Car Championship after its nerve-wracking season climax recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The Baguio-native regained the throne he last held in 2003, and despite missing the touring car scene for the last five years after his last circuit racing stint in 2007, Anton showed he hasn’t lost his touch after winning eight of the 12 rounds of this series organized by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).

The series is promoted by the Philippine Race Car Drivers, Inc. (PRCDI),  co-presented by Kumho Tires, Tiarra Marketing, Forex, Promethium and Velocity Motors and powered by Speedlab, Honda Cars Caloocan and Aeromed Ambulance Transport.

Enjoying a precarious nine-point lead prior to this series finale, Anton already had the title in the bag after winning Rounds 9 and 10 last Saturday.
