Roach not keen on Pacquiao-Bradley rematch

Freddie Roach says Timothy Bradley will just 'run all night' in a rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

MANILA, Philippines – Freddie Roach wants Manny Pacquiao to look sensational in his next fight. That, according to him, would be hard to achieve against Timothy Bradley.

If it were up to him, Roach would advise Pacquiao against taking a rematch with the slick Bradley simply because the undefeated American’s style isn’t suited for his ward.

Speaking to fight scribe Michael Woods, Roach is expecting Bradley to be on the defensive in a rematch with Pacquiao, turning it into a boring bout.

“I want Manny to look good in his next fight, and I think maybe Tim Bradley wants too much money. Plus I think he will run all night and make for a poor showing for Manny," the bespectacled trainer explained.

Pacquiao is booked to fight again on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and although his opponent hasn’t been finalized, Bradley is the frontrunner to land the bout. They first fought in June 2012 for the WBO welterweight title, with Bradley escaping with a controversial decision.

The fighting congressman wants another crack at Bradley to regain his title, especially that a megabuck clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t possible at the moment.

Roach earlier voiced out his desire for Pacquiao to take on Robert Guerrero, saying a fight between them would be great.

He’s also open to a Pacquiao bout against Ruslan Provodnikoz.

"Ruslan Provodnikov is a better fight Manny. They are good friends, though," Roach said

"I'm trying not to make it happen, but to be honest, it's probably the best fight for Manny. I've seen them spar many times and it is competitive,” he added.

The maestro just wants an exciting fight for his ward.
