MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance marks its 20th year with a six-cock derby circuit for the 2013-2014 season with Luding Boongaling, Eugene Martin, Eric dela Rosa and Butchoy Olano hosting the kick-off leg on Dec. 17 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The second stage is set on Jan. 7, 2014 to be hosted by Osang dela Cruz, Procis Aquino, Pol Estrellado and Arnold Mendoza while the NCA’s blue-ribbon event, the World Championship Derby, will be held Jan. 14, 16 and 18.
The NCA’s first Cocker of the Year awardee, Mario Villamor, will be feted during the WCD.
Through the years, the NCA, sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor, has maintained the quality and caliber of its derbies because of its strict adherence to sportsmanship, transparency and fair play.
Meanwhile, the NCA members for 2013-2014 are Lito Orillaza, JR Tolentino and partner, Firefly Group, Mario Villamor, Edwin Tose, Jun Topacio, R. Gatchalian, Atong Ang, Eric dela Rosa, Osang dela Cruz, Procis Aquino, Manny and Armand Santos, Ruel Ricafort and Butchoy Olano for Metro Manila.
Pol Estrellado, Ito Ynares, Vic Amante, Luding Boongaling, Arnold Mendoza and Bernie Atienza compose the Region 4 group.
The Northern Luzon is made up of Patrick Antonio, Cesar Dy, Tonton Uy, Jose T. Panganiban, Eugene Martin and Edgar Santos while Nueva Ecija is composed of Elan Nagaño, Jun Soriano and Nestor Mercado.
Victor Yap and Pipo Soliman head the Tarlac side while Pampanga is headed by Efren Canlas, Jet Fernando, and Jun and Rudy Jingco.
The Mindanao contingent is made up of Claude Bautista, Bebot Uy, Allan Bantile, Larry Rubinos, Peter Unabia and Jun Diamante and Rene Medina is the lone NCA member from the US.
