Duremdes shines for Mighty Sports

MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion Mighty Sports repulsed Sea Lions, 107-100, in a fight-marred game to notch its second victory in the Danny Espiritu Cup at the Reyes Gym in Mandaluyong over the weekend.

Former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes presided over the team’s bristling assault as Mighty Sports improved its win-loss record to 2-2 in the event held in honor of PBA agent Danny Espiritu.

Mighty’s win was a follow-up to its 102-89 win over Globalport last weekend.

Duremdes scattered 12 points, including eight in the payoff period that kept Sea Lions at bay. Duremdes also had six assists and five rebounds.

Four other Mighty Sports players scored in double figures with Niño Marquez leading the team with 22 points while former University of the Philippines standout Edrick Ferrer and Robie Celis had 20 and 15 markers, respectively.
