MANILA, Philippines - Angelo Que eagled No. 10 for the second straight time and birdied three of the last four holes to fire a six-under 66 and salvage third place finish in the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship ruled by Thai Thaworn Wiratchant in Taiwan yesterday.
Que, joint 10th at the start of the final round, birdied the first three holes to move up, added another birdie on the seventh but fumbled with a bogey on the ninth for a 33. He then eagled the par-5 10th again, reeled back with two birdies on Nos. 12 and 14 but made a blazing finish with birdies on Nos. 15, 17 and 18 to finish with a nine-under 279 aggregate, four behind Wiratchant.
He won $31,000 (P1.4 million) and boosted his world ranking for a crack at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf in November. Que is currently ranked 334th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) with the cut off date for the top-60 field is on Sept. 23 with the projected cut on the OWGR expected to be around 340th position.
