MANILA, Philippines – The biggest sneaker and streetwear convention in Asia is back hotter than before.
After a successful event last summer, a clamor for an encore this year is answered with the Sole Slam Automax 2 this weekend (Sept 14-15) at One Esplanade Pasay City.
"What makes this event better is that the quality of vendors that we'll be having is better and Ben Baller is our biggest celebrity that we've brought over so far," Antonio Aguirre, the brain behind Sole Slam, told Philstar.com.
Baller, a Korean-American jeweler and a former DJ, is a world-renowned sneaker collector.
He is not only Sole Slam's special guest as US-based model Christine Mendoza is also set to make an appearance in the event.
"Christine Mendoza is a goddess in the US in the glamour model industry for 10 years now (from 18-28yrs old)," Aguirre said.
The Sole Slam Automax 2, presented by Premiere Condoms and DXC USA in cooperation with Infinite Clothing & Decal Republic, will feature over 50 rare and hard to find sneakers and streetwear vendors.
Aside from the hottest and rarest sneakers up for sale, there will also be over 200 tricked-out rides on display, performances from seven top DJs, over 80 car show models and the hard to find Nike Air Mag to be raffled.
Other highlights of the two-day event will be the DXC Sneaker Battle Championship and the first Sole Skate Skateboard Tournament and Sole Slam Mini 4WD Competition.
There will also be special performances by Wave 89.1 program performers and the much awaited search for the first "Automax Babe" with over 500,000 cash prizes in store.
