MANILA, Philippines - Action in the Coca-Cola Karting Super Series shifts to Clark this weekend with the leading bets stepping up their respective title drive at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
CJ Tsui of Formula-E Racing, one of last year’s top title contenders, goes for his second straight win as he tries to bolster his bid for the coveted Karter of the Year plum.
Tsui needs another win to catch up with the frontrunning Daniel Miranda of Cebuana Lhuillier and ace lady karter Sacha Feliciano in the battle for the overall crown in the event sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines and Yokohama and sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.
The field will be in for a tough outing as they tackle two equally challenging courses – the East and West courses, which features tricky curves and hairpins that could make or break each other’s bids.
Focus will also be on Bobby Domingo of Formula-E Racing, young SEAOIL-DC-Kilton karter Gabe Cabrera, who also tries to firm up his bid for the Junior Karter of the Year award and the ROK Clubman crown against Raymond Cudala of Tough Gear Racing, Formula-E’s Jaz Monzones and Liam Linao, Wayne Darvin of Total Racing and Brian Thorp of AUTS Racing.
Cabrera also hopes to keep solo lead in the Formula SL Novice against AT Tuason of TRS Karting Kids and Mark Francis Tanlu of AUTS Racing.
Yvana Carangan of AUTS Racing, meanwhile, tries to remain on top of the Formula SL Expert division against teammate Carl Luiig, Carlo Lorenzo of CityKart and Boomland champion Mary Allison Julian of One Racing while Raul Barreto hopes to score a repeat over Michael Jordan and Paulo Ferrer in SQ Karting race.
