Villamor captures top honors in Luzvimin tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Villamor romped off with three of the top awards in the 2013 Champion Infinity Luzvimin Golf Invitational in what was its most impressive stint in the annual event held at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club recently.

Harmie Constantino pooled 106 Molave points in the tournament reduced to 36 holes as she captured the overall individual championship while Samantha Martirez took the top individual honors in the championship division (handicap 0-9.99) with two-day score of 99.

Villamor I capped the team’s domination by assembling a 342 and ruling the premier Emerald Division (Class A) of the event organized by the Women’s Golf Association of the Phils. (WGAP).

The Villamor ladies beat their Southwoods counterparts by two, foiling the Carmona-based squad from regaining the crown they kept for four straight years before yielding it to Del Monte last year.

Joining Constantino and Martirez in the Villamor I squad were Jo Barredo, Ting Yupangco, Marie Guerrero and Nancy Tsay.

Manila Southwoods I, composed of Katrina Gonzalez, Beachie Abiera, Marie Claire Ong, Claudine Garcia, Christine Naidoo and Sandy Velhagen, wound up with a 340.

Irene Shinmura of Apo Golf scored 88 points to pocket the Class A individual title in Class A, Rhea Mae Langgamin of Del Monte won the Class B (Ruby Division) crown with 78, while Virginia Hermiston of Davao City Golf Club took the Class C (Pearl Division) plum with a 73.

Apo Golf, which also included Gemma Bokawachi, Stella Barnes, Lilibeth Crisologo, Imee Garcia, Mereane Siason, topped the Ruby category with a 291, besting Manila Southwoods II, which had a 265.

Davao City Golf Club, composed of Hermiston, Evelyn Quinsay, Roselyn Sara, Josephine Vergara, Rohelyn Revilleza and Wennie Dixon, scored a 263 and topped the Pearl Division.

Negros Occidental II, made up of Anna Katrina Cortez, Joan Roxas, Regina Zulueta, Tina Rojas and Christina Gamboa, finished second with 219 points.
