Painters arrest skid, deal Express 3rd straight loss

MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine bounced back after a pair of losses with a masterful 109-95 victory over struggling Air21 Saturday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Unlike in their past two games, Rain or Shine clicked on both ends of the floor this time.

Arizona Reid made sure they will snap out of the funk firing away 35 points on a splendid 17-of-26 shooting as the whole Rain or Shine team shot 50 percent from the field.

Paul Lee backed him up with 19 markers and six assists as he orchestrated the well-oiled Rain or Shine offense. Ryan Arana added 14 points for the Elasto Painters, who improved to 3-2, following consecutive 15-point losses at the hands of Petron and Alaska.

With the baskets pouring in for Rain or Shine, the Express went on dry spell especially with Zach Graham limited to a PBA career-low 18 points.

Nino Canaleta and Mike Cortez combined for 46 points but they not enough to stop Air21 from falling to its third straight loss.
