MANILA, Philippines - Canlubang chalked up another sweep by dominating Sta. Elena to zoom ahead in Group 2 even as Eastridge seized control of Group 1 after Week 4 of the Men’s Federation Golf League Matches in various venues recently.
Canlubang followed up a 5-0 home victory with a 3-2 decision at Sta. Elena to start the season with a perfect 4-0 record that gave them the league’s overall lead with 12 points.
Eastridge’s revitalized lineup swept Sherwood Hills with a pair of convincing wins – 4-1 at home and 5-0 on the road – to improve its record to three wins against a loss good for 9 points in Division 1.
Mimosa remained on qualifying track in Group 3 after a couple of 3-2 wins over Tagaytay Highlands to improve its win-loss record to 2-2 and 6 points like Alabang which figured in a 1-1 tie with pre-tournament favorite Orchard.
Orchard drew first blood with an impressive 4-1 win at its home course but Alabang battled back with a 3.5-1.5 result in its hosting turn.
In a tight match between two of the strongest teams in the league, the duel between defending champion Wack Wack and Riviera ended in a rare pair of 2.5-2.5 stand-offs.
Forest Hills, meanwhile, opened its campaign with a pair of victories over Manila Southwoods.
