MANILA, Philippines - Eight top-notch two-year-olds will slug it out for top honors in the P1 million PCSO Special Maiden Race tomorrow at the MetroTurf in Malvar, Batangas.
A whopping P600,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the 1,200-meter race that will be disputed by Felizardo Sevilla’s Chancery Lane, JRS Farm’s Tumauni, Jun Almeda’s Move On, Ruben Dimacuha’s Up and Away, Antonio David’s Willingandable, Rep. Jeci Lapus’s Young Turf, Roman Santos’s Asikaso and SC Stockfarm’s Mona’s Art.
Young Turk and Asikaso, who are both colts, will carry handicap weights of 54 kilos while the rest are all fillies who will be carrying 52 kilos each.
Young Turk, ridden by Jonathan Hernandez, beat Mona’s Art during the Sweepstakes Trial late last month at the same track. Asikaso checked in third followed by Up And Away, Chancery Lane, Move On, Willingandable, and Tumaini in that order.
But experts predict a down-to-the-wire battle in the blue-ribbon event sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
