Lomibao elected PSA president

MANILA, Philippines - Lorenzo “Jun” Lomibao of the Business Mirror heads the new batch of officers of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) following Tuesday’s election held at Shakey’s Malate.

Lomibao succeeds as president Rey Bancod of Tempo/Bulletin, who served as prexy of the country’s oldest media organization for two straight terms.

Others comprising the new set of officers are Teddyvic Melendres of the Inquirer (first Vice President), Joe Antonio of People’s Journal (second vice president), Gerry N. Ramos of Spin.ph (secretary), Mae Balbuena of PM and Jasmine W. Payo of the Inquirer (assistant secretaries), Riera Mallari of Manila Standard (treasurer), and Frederick Nasiad of Bandera (auditor).

Memberse of the board of directors are Ding Marcelo (Manila Bulletin), Lito Tacujan (Philippine STAR), Rey Bancod (Tempo), Jimmy Cantor (Malaya), Aldrin Cardona (Daily Tribune), Ernie Gonzales (Inquirer), Recah Trinidad (Inquirer), Dennis Inigo (Balita), and Al Mendoza (Abante/Business Mirror).
