MANILA, Philippines - The Blue team bested the field to rule the second tennis fund-raising tournament of the Cancer Resource and Wellness (Carewell) Community Foundation, Inc. at the Manila Polo Club recently.
Over 60 players and more than 20 sponsors and media partners took part in the event held to raise awareness regarding the importance of providing psychosocial support to cancer patients and their loved ones.
Since 2006, Carewell has been providing support and education programs to persons with cancer and their families completely free of charge. As of 2013, Carewell has served over 500 members and their loved ones through its array of resources, activities and services focused on improving quality of life and improving chances of recovery.
Other backers of the event were Wide Wide World Express, Mapfre Insular Insurance Corp., Planet Sports, Le Soleil de Boracay Hotel, Cebuana Lhuillier, Just Jewels, Allcare Insurance, First Life Financial Company, The Straits Wine Company, California Pizza Kitchen, IHOP Restaurant, Mad for Garlic Italian Wine Bistro, P.F.
