Suzuki satellite teams star in 2nd leg of RUGP

Riders from the Suzuki-Phoenix teams topped the second leg of the Regional Underbone Grand Prix with six podium finishes, including two first place finishes.

TAGUM CITY , Philippines   â€“ Satellite Suzuki Racing Teams from Visayas and Mindanao turned in six podium finishes in the second leg of The Racing Line’s 2013 Castrol Power One Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP) recently.

Chris Karlou Samoga and April King Mascardo of Suzuki-Phoenix V-MAN Racing Team from Mindanao topped the Expert 130 Open and Intermediate Expert 130 Open, respectively, to lead the team’s charge. Samoga also finished third in the Expert Open category while Mascardo placed second in the 4AT Scooter 160 Intermediate Expert class.

Neil Perino of Suzuki-Phoenix BMR Racing Team from Visayas and Joven Millana of Suzuki-Phoenix V-MAN turned in a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100-125 Super Stock Beginners and the Intermediate Expert 130 Open categories.

Teammates John Louie Chan and Jeffrey John Tuico of Suzuki Phoenix BMR also finished second and third places, respectively, in the 4AT Scooter 160 Novice division.

The winning bikes of the team are Suzuki Smash Cool 115 and Raider R150 for the underbone categories, and Suzuki Nex115 and Suzuki Skydrive for Automatic or Scooter categories.

Riders also suited up for the second leg of the RUGP Nex115 Grand Prix, a “one make” or stock special category using the provided units of Suzuki Nex115 and Nex Level Scooter.

Dan Carlos of Malaybalay Mototek finished first, followed respectively by independent rider Joel Buguis and Von Jovie Violan of Nats Body KTS from Digos, Davao Del Sur. Carlos was awarded the coveted plaque, cash prize, and an LS2 Full Face Helmet.

The RUGP Nex115 Grand Prix category is powered by YRS Modification Shop, FDR Tires Philippines, LS2 Helmets and Motoworld Philippines.
