MANILA, Philippines - Cagayan de Oro’s Dave Mosqueda bagged two titles to dominate the third leg of Head Junior Satellite Circuit national tennis age-group tournament at the Nazareth tennis courts in Cagayan De Oro City recently.
Mosqueda beat Christian Fel Lopez, 6-2, 6-2, to claim the boys’ 18-and-under title and blanked JR Vacalares, 6-0, 6-0, to romp away with the 16-and-U plum in the event backed by Smart Sports, Chris Sports, Meralco, Maynilad, Toalson and Head, the official tennis ball.
Lenelyn Milo survived Carmela Llavore, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, to cop the girls’ singles 18-and-U crown, but Llavore bounced back in the 16-under class finals and beat Angelica Mosqueda, 6-2, 6-4, to complete a double victory.
Llavore earlier captured the 14-and-U diadem with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Patricia Valdez.
Emmanuel Fuellas routed Stephen Tubbs, 6-1, 6-1, to pocket the boys 14-and-U crown while Vince Geo Serino whitewashed Christian Llavore, 6-0, 6-0, to annex the 12-and-U crown.
Gennifer Pagente also ripped Ma. Angelica Novis, 6-0, 6-0, in the girls’ singles 12-and-under final while John David Velez won the 10-and-under unisex singles crown with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Rupert Tortal, 6-4, 6-1.
Meanwhile, Chris Sports, a sports retailer chain, also opened a new branch in Centrio CDO, according to marketing director Arleen Lindo.
