MANILA, Philippines - The NCAA Cheerleading Competition unfolds today with University of Perpetual Help System Dalta going for a fourth straight championship at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The event, to be broadcast live on AKTV on IBC 13 starting at 3:30 p.m., caps the league’s 88th season.
“We are thankful to the NCAA for partnering with us. The league brought audiences thrilling sports action not just in basketball but also in other sports. If our viewers think this season was action-packed enough, they should watch out for what’s in store for them next season,†said Sports5 sports manager Vitto Lazatin.
The Altas Perps squad is actually eyeing a four-peat and a historic seventh title overall in the past decade. “For sure, every team is out to stop us. But we’ll do our best to defend our title and whatever happens, may the best team win,†JR Sison, Perps Squad team captain said.
Out to end the Altas Perps’ domination are the Mapua Cheerping Cardinals, runners-up the last two years, the CSB Pep Squad, San Beda Red Corps, Golden Stags Cheerleading Squad, EAC Generals Pep Squad, Arellano University Chiefs Squad, LPU Pirates Pep Squad, JRU Bombers Pep Squad and from 88th Season host school, the Letran Cheerleading Team All Stars.
