ITTF exec to hold TATAP seminar

MANILA, Philippines - International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) officer Malaysian Chan Foong Keong will conduct ITTF Tournament Organization Course in the country in cooperation with the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (TATAP) beginning tomorrow at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.

Chan, also the present Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association secretary-general and ITTF veteran committee chairman, is set to arrive today in time for tomorrow’s start of the seminar held to help different Filipino tournament organizers in proper handling and preparing a tournament.   

 â€œMr. Chan’s arrival is a big boost to Philippine table tennis development particularly in how to handle proper tournaments,” said TATAP president Ting Ledesma, who also thanked the Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Olympic Committee for supporting the seminar.

The event is also organized by TATAP secretary-general Annie Andanar and fellow board of trustees.

“Mr. Chan will teach us how to make proper team competition formats, make a draw, ranking position and create fund raising, among anything else in connection to tournament organizing,” said Ledesma.

The TATAP chief is inviting all table tennis organizers to register at the TATAP office and attend the seminar.
