Sofitel-RunRio battle of sexes up

MANILA, Philippines - Sofitel Philippine Plaza, in partnership with RunRio, Inc., is launching RunRio-Battle of the Sexes, a 10K fun run slated  Jan 26 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay.

Participants will be grouped into 10 age categories, with one  overall winner and one male and female winner in each category.

The overall winner gets an overnight stay at a Sofitel Suite with breakfast for two at Spiral. Each category winner will win an overnight accommodation at a superior room at Sofitel Manila with breakfast for two at Spiral.

As an added bonus, all participants will have the chance to win over 1 million luxury prizes from Sofitel Manila.

One lucky raffle winner will get a chance to win “one million luxury stay package” which includes a three-night stay at the Imperial Suite, 10 gift certificates for lunch/dinner buffet for two in Spiral and five gift certificates at Le Spa, Sofitel Manila’s luxury spa center. The raffle draw will be held after the race.

RunRio is a series of 10K fun runs organized by RunRio, Inc. headed by running coach Rio de la Cruz. This month, RunRio, Inc. and Sofitel, the only French luxury hotel in Manila, are organizing their first fun run for the year.

The Battle of Sexes’ unique concept of male vs female is probably a first in the country. Male and female participants will compete with each other in one finish line, one venue, one distance. Female runners will run fist, then males follow after even minutes.

Sofitel Philippine Plaza general manager Goran Aleks.said proceeds will go to the Virlanie Foundation to help alleviate the plight of street children in Manila.

In-store registration has been set up at Toby’s MOA, Toby’s SM The Block, Riovana BGC, Riovana Katipunan and Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Tickets can also be purchased  online a www.runrio.com.
