Canossa unbeaten in Seaoil-NBTC

MANILA, Philippines - Canossa Academy in Lipa City posted four victories in five games to lead the PLDT-Southern Luzon leg of the Seaoil-NBTC Junior National Championships.

Tied at second with 4-1 cards are St. Bridgette College in Batangas City and Our Lady of Caysasay Academy (OLCA) in Taal. Running fourth at 3-3 is First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH), followed by St. Thomas Academy in Sto. Tomas (2-3), Bauan Technical High School (2-4), and Batangas Christian School (0-5).

Over in Naga, after four weeks in the two-bracket tourney, Naga City Montessori and Camarines Sur National each have 4-0 cards; Jesus the Loving Shepherd HS and Con Pequena both have 3-1 slates, followed by University of Nueva Caceres and St. Joseph School (2-1); Naga College Foundation (2-2); Partido State University (0-3); Naga City Science (0-3); Cararayan HS (0-4); and St. Louise de Marillac (0-4).

In the NLEX-Dagupan leg, Divine Word of Academy and Bonuan Boquig National hurdled their respective rivals while Lyceum Northwestern University and University of Luzon High both dropped their opening day games in Group A.
In Group B, Saint Albert the Great is unbeaten in two outings, Dagupan City National has one win followed by East Central Integrated (1-1), Mother Goose Special System Inc. (0-1), and Judge Jose de Venecia Sr. Memorial (0-2).

In the Philex-Iligan leg, St. Peter’s College has two wins, St. Michael’s College and Lanao Chung Hua High hold 1-1 cards, and Iligan Medical Center College has two losses.

In PLDT-Lucena games, Sacred Heart downed Scuola Gesu Bambino, 81-73; Calayan Educational Foundation Inc. routed St. Anne, 94-41; Phil Tong Ho Institute edged Maryhill College, 89-86; International School for Better Beginnings outclassed Bristol Integrated, 160-18; Infant Jesus Montessori dominated Young Learner’s Home Co. Inc., 72-47; and Holy Rosary Catholic School drubbed Enverga Institure Foundation, 73-41.
