West Negros faces HTC in Cebu elims

MANILA, Philippines - West Negros U clashes with Holy Trinity College while University of Visayas tangle with University of San Jose-Recoletos in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League’s step-ladder knockout phase in Cebu City today. 

All games at Cebu City will be covered live by ABS-CBN Network and aired over Studio 23.

The West Negros Mustangs, champion of the Visayas islands, and the Holy Trinity College Wildcats, winner of Mindanao, will meet in Game 1 face off at 2 p.m. while the UV cagers, CESAFI runners-up, and USJ-R Jaguars, CESAFI third placer, collide at 4 p.m. as the southern islands bracket start the knock-out games to determine the opponent of CESAFI champion, Southwestern University Cobras, for the Southern Islands overall championship and a seat in the Final Four of the national collegiate competitions.

Day 2 of the Cebu games will feature San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 2011 National Collegiate champion and this year’s NCAA third placer, against UAAP third placer National University for the next level of the Luzon Metro Manila stepladder bracket.

On Day 3, La Salle will clash with Adamson, the hottest team in the event with five straight victories coming from the Metro Manila Qualifying games.

The 4 p.m. main game will be the Southern Islands Overall championship where Southwestern University Cobras will aim for a seat in the Final Four together with early qualifiers UAAP five-peat champion, Ateneo Blue Eagles and NCAA three-peat champion, San Beda Red Lions.
