MANILA, Philippines - Around 3,000 runners are expected to join the coming Philippine Pediatric Society Family fun run set Oct. 13 at the Mall of Asia.
A three-month old baby and six-month old triplets are among those joining this runfest for a cause held in celebration of the 65th year of the Philippine Pediatric Society Inc (PPSI).
Members of the pediatric society composed of doctors, nurses, and their respective families will compose the roster of runners seeing action in four racing categories, according to Dr. Jean Poblete, chairman of the organizing committee during the weekly PSA Forum at Shakey’s Malate on Tuesday.
Registration is ongoing with fees pegged at P400, P350, P300, and P250 for 10.65 km, 5.065 km, 3.065 km and 565m., respectively.
The event is held to promote health and wellness among children, added Dr. Francis Dimalanta, co-chair of the meet, who was joined in the session by Darren Evangelista,Liz Inciong, and United Laboratories officials Edgar Kanapi and Nicole Javines.
The PPSI is a specialty division of the Philippine Medical Association. Founded in 1947 by seven pediatricians, it now has a number of 4,085 members spread all over the country.
