MANILA, Philippines – Past triathlon winners have been invited to compete with the new batch of competitors in the fifth Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon on Oct. 20-21 at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club in Morong, Bataan.
Levy Ang and Geraldine Santiago have actually signed up for the event with Kevin Lyndonn Eijansantos, Franchesca Carpo, David Verlee, Andrea Lagman and Carina Dayondon expected to confirm their participation in the next few days.
Eijansantos, however, will be excluded from the main sprint distance triathlon (1.2km swim-32km bike-6km run) event due to his inclusion in the national team’s training pool.
Other race categories on tap in the event, sponsored by Globe Telecom, Ayala Land Premier, Century Tuna, Gatorade, Philippine Sports Commission, Asian Centre for Insulation Philippines and Standard Insurance, are SuperTriKids (STK) aquathlon (swim-run), a family triathlon relay, regular triathlon relay and short distance races for youth triathletes.
In addition, members of the Phl triathlon team will participate as guest competitors and will have their personal time trials.
“ACBNC is happy to host the fifth version of this race that keeps growing every year. We are proud that the Anvaya Triathlon is considered one of the best organized triathlons in the country,” said ACBNC general manager George Cadhit.
The organizing Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) said that entries for the event hosted by the ACBNC have exceeded the 120-participant mark as of Aug. 31. To ensure the safety of participants, a limit of 200 participants has been imposed.
At stake for all winners are specially crafted medals and gift items from the sponsors.
