MANILA, Philippines - Veteran Harris Sarmiento and undefeated Mark Streigl take on equally tough rivals in the PXC 33 firing off tonight at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Legendary referee Big John McCarthy will be the special match official in the event to be aired via satellite on AKTV on IBC13 starting at 8 p.m.
Sarmiento will be taking on Korea’s Seung Hwa-han, fighting out of Jeonju First Gym, who is on a three-win run.
The Ilocos Norte-born and Hawaii-based Sarmiento was originally scheduled to take on Jon Tuck, who failed to get medical clearance after suffering an injury in training.
Sarmiento, the PXC lightweight champion, has a record of 34 wins, the last against Raja Shippen, and 23 losses.
Meanwhile, Fil-Am Streigl will make his PXC debut against Robert Wusstig of Guam. Now based in Baguio City, Streigl has recorded wins in various MMA tournaments across Asia, including Japan, Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines.
Wusstig, on the other hand, is coming off back-to-back wins over Shane Alvarez at Trench Warz 15 and Thaddeaus Malbreaux in PXC 30.
PXC 33 will also feature pro MMA matchups showcasing fighters from the Philippines, US Mainland, Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and Korea.
