TUA downs San Lorenzo, grabs Sandugo

MANILA, Philippines - Trinity University of Asia rolled past Colegio de San Lorenzo, 74-64, to post its third straight victory in the men’s division of the Sandugo-Collegiate Athletic League (CAL) at the Treston gym.

Informatics -A and College of St. Benilde stay just behind with identical 2-0 slates while CDSL dropped to 1-1.

Emilio Aguinaldo College snapped a two-game skid with a 97-87 victory over Don Bosco Technical College in the other game. DBTC slid to 0-2 in the tournament sponsored by PC Gilmore, the Philippine Sports Commission, Phiten, Gatorade and Uratex.

Xer Anthony Villanueva hit 25 points and Maximillian Valdez and Troy Bautista added 19 and 17 markers, respectively, as UA&P hurdled Informatics-B, 77-67.

Bernardo Recato scored 15 points for Informatics-B.

In women’s play of the developmental league, backed by by Primovit Multi-vitamins and Platinum Fitness, CSB, led by Joy Zuniga and Grace Dadal, blanked DBTC in the second quarter en route to a runaway 74-33 rout.

Zuniga finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists to likewise bag the MVP honors while Dadal topscored with 18 points.

Adamson U and De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, meanwhile, continue to pace the women’s division with 2-0 cards

UST is at 1-2 behind CSB’s 1-0 cad while DBTC trails the field with a 0-3 mark.
