MANILA, Philippines - Korean Kim Jung Soo and Maru Sotto dominated the First Eastern Communications Invitational golf tournament recently, emerging as the net and gross champions, respectively, at the Sta. Elena Golf Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Kim shot a gross 76 for a net 70 while Sotto, whose brother, celebrity Vic, also graced the tourney, shot an 86.
The tournament highlighted Eastern Communication’s expansion project from Cavite to Nasugbu, Batangas where it has built a 240-km redundant fiber network that covers more economic zones in the south.
Vic Sotto, along with fellow celebrity Anjo Yllana and Fanny Yu from Procter and Gamble, hit the ceremonial tee-off that marked the start of the tournament backed by Sledgers, Citibank, Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditioning, Tourmaster, RiteMED, and Rebisco. Golfers from various Light Industry and Science Park locaters and invited guests made up the big field.
