Boysen shows way in ABC anniversary tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Ronnie Javier, Denis Jalandoon and Jerry Cham of Boysen Knoxout combined for 1248 to tie with Buddy Segui, Javier and Jalandoon of Steeltech team as they beat Dante Manglicmot, Bibs Luzande and Hermie Prudente of Duraflex THHN Wires (1233) in Group I in the Architects Bowling Club’s 35th anniversary tournament at E Lanes in Ortigas Ave., Greenhills l ast week.

Boysen Wallguard, composed of Kathlyn Ong, Zeny Prudente and Hermie Prudente paced Group 2 with 1302 while May Sabater, Tony Sabater and Luzande of Colorsteel scored 1216 and Violy and Bert Magsakay and Jun Cheng of Firefly-Royu had 1208 to place second and third, respectively, in the weekly event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Cham and Segui of Boysen also took the Group I lead in the double event with We Konstruct’s Javier and Jalandoon submitted 867 while Duraflex team of Jimmy Ocampo and Joey del Rosario rolled 851 to finish second and third, respectively.

JS Alvarez’s Ong and Robert Olete showed the way in Group 2 doubles followed by Ricky Martinez and Luzande of Concrete Ventures with 813 in a tie with HCG Phil.’s Totie Nunez and Eugene Ferraris.

The tournament, backed by ABC Phils., Atlanta Pipes, Crown Pipes, Philflex Wires, Emerald Pipes, Boysen Healthy Homes/Acrytex/Percelente, Moldex Pipes, Duraflex TW/THW Wires, Nation Paints and La Vida Verde, resumes at 4 p.m. today for the final qualifying event, also at E Lanes.
